Description
This is our fifth nativity in our collection, and comes with a surprising story to tell.
The tower of the flock, also known as Migdal Eder in Hebrew, was the center of royal sheep preparation for sacrifice in ancient times. The tower, located in Bethlehem, was the place where an unblemished baby lamb was selected and at birth, the baby was wrapped in priestly swaddling cloths, and carefully raised in the fields there to be the sacrifice for the entire Jewish nation on Passover.
Our little recreation of this miraculous spot on planet earth honors this ancient story of the place where Mary and Joseph were led to give birth to baby Jesus.
“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” Luke 2:10-12 KJV
This little ceramic cloche is 2" tall x 1.75" in diameter
