Our Finishes

Super Matte

Super matte finishes temporarily absorb some water and may potentially stain with use of oil. Any substances absorbed may come out in the dishwasher, but we cannot guarantee these finishes will not hold stains. Their textures can range from smooth pebbles to hewn stone, and they reflect very little light. These finishes can be used on every inch of our pieces, even where they come in contact with the kiln shelf during firing. This means our matte finishes can offer you solid, complete coverage on any piece or pair nicely with a satin or high gloss surface finish.

Matte

Matte finishes temporarily absorb some water and oil, but anything absorbed into their surface comes out easily in the dishwasher or air dries quickly. Their textures are similar to smooth pebbles, with the exception of Rojo, and they reflect very little light. These finishes can be used on every inch of our pieces, even where they come in contact with the kiln shelf during firing. This means our matte finishes can offer you solid, complete coverage on any piece or pair nicely with a satin or high gloss surface finish. These finishes are perfect for everyday use for dining, serving, and decorating!

Satin

Satin finishes resist most water and oils. They have a sea-glass-like sheen that reflects some light and feels smooth to the touch. Due to their glassy properties, our satin finishes cannot be used on the bottoms of our wares where they come in contact with the kiln shelf during firing. This means our satin pieces provide a lovely contrast with a matte or super matte finish on their bottoms. These finishes are perfect for everyday use for dining, serving, and decorating!

High Gloss

High gloss finishes are fully oil and water resistant. They have a glass-like sheen that reflects light and feels slick to the touch. Due to their glassy properties, our high gloss finishes cannot be used on the bottoms of our wares where they come in contact with the kiln shelf during firing. This means our high gloss pieces provide a lovely contrast with a matte or super matte finish on their bottoms. These finishes are perfect for everyday use for dining, serving, and decorating!

Blanc

Blanc is one of our most popular finishes because of its versatility with various color palettes. Blanc has a brushed appearance reminiscent of romantic, old world plaster walls. It is a matte finish.

Black

Black was our very first finish when we began in 2017! We have tweaked it over the years to make it work even better for you and your home. This dramatic finish offers deep contrast with anything you place on it, elevating even the most everyday occasions. It is a matte finish.

Sand

Sand is a very popular finish. It is a warm beige claybody embedded with small, dense black speckles that give it visual texture and interest. These speckles come through in any glaze we pair with it to create other finishes. We love how the organic look of this finish brings a down-to-earth feel to any table. Sand is a satin finish.

Peach

Peach is a light terracotta-colored claybody with dispersed dark brown speckles that give it visual texture without concealing its earthen orange tones. These speckles come through in any glaze we pair with it to create additional finishes. Peach brings a warm glow wherever it goes. It is a super matte finish.

Rojo

Rojo is our most textured finish. It is a deep, earthy red with a dense, stony grain throughout. Rojo's texture isn't just beautiful, it's also useful - we love to use it to grind garlic and other aromatics and herbs while cooking. It is a matte finish.

Satin Oat

Satin Oat is created by applying an opaque satin white glaze to our Sand claybody, with sand on the edges and bottom of each piece. We love the contrast created by Sand and Satin Oat. Satin Oat is a great choice for a clean, earthy feel. It is a satin finish.

Raindrop

This spotted finish can read fun and whimsical or minimal and elegant depending on how you style it - we love versatility. Palomino is a high gloss finish.
