1. Choose your finish! We don’t consider your finish choice a customization, so choosing your finish doesn’t incur any customization surcharges. Every piece we make in our studio is available in almost any finish, and we’ll make it to order just for you, so choosing your finish is the easiest way to customize your order! These custom pieces can be ordered online.

2. Add a logo, initial, or design to your pieces! We have several methods for adding text and graphics to our pieces, and we’ll discuss with you which option suits your product and finish best. This option is available if you email, text, or call us.

3. Don’t see what you’re looking for in our standard collection? Do you have something particular in mind, you just need someone to make it a reality? Reach out to us to discuss your options for coming up with something entirely new. Whether it’s a mug shape we haven’t tried before, or a platter size we don’t usually offer, we love working on brand new forms to help your ideas come to life. These custom pieces work best when we collaborate with you via email.

One way to place a custom order is to order pieces online by shopping our custom wares. This option works best if you're looking for our most popular pieces, like plates, bowls, and drinking vessels, in our standard collection of finishes.

If you don't see what you're looking for on our custom wares page, the best way to order custom wares is by emailing us at info@civilstoneware.com or by calling/texting us at 205.737.1526. This option works best for wares that require branding or logos, finishes outside of our standard collection of finishes, or entirely new pieces or ideas.

Pieces and finishes in our standard collection do not incur any customization surcharge. This means that anything you order from our custom wares page costs the same as if you bought it right off of our shelves! These pieces are made to order and may take 10 to 15 working days to arrive with you.

We add a 10% customization surcharge to retail orders that include any branding or graphics to cover the extra time, care, and attention it takes to make custom pieces extra special. If you're a wholesaler, this surcharge applies on top of your wholesale discount (email us at info@civilstoneware.com if you would like to see our wholesale line sheet or open a wholesale account with us). You can expect an additional charge of $30.00 per sheet if your order includes glaze transfer customization, or an additional charge of $15.00 if your order includes a stamped customization.

For entirely new pieces we develop especially for you, pricing is determined on a case by case basis. Development time, materials, and the pricing of existing pieces in our collection help determine how new custom pieces will be priced.
