4 inch dishes: approximately 4" in diameter. No defects, just one-of-a-kind! One dish has a matte finish all over, the other has a high gloss surface finish with a matte bottom and edges. 

9 inch plate: approximately 9" in diameter. No defects, just one-of-a-kind! Matte finish all over. 

Each piece is food safe + dishwasher safe; and while our wares are microwave safe, we recommend limiting their use in the microwave as it weakens them over time.
